My name is Alee. Graduate student starting in January 2014. Studying Middle and Secondary Education with a concentration in Language Arts/English. Legal drinking age + 1. Marine fiancée. Getting married in September 2014. (Im)patiently awaiting the next time I'll see my soulmate. :)

My fiancé unofficially proposed to me on February 3, 2013, otherwise known as Superbowl Sunday. It was a week before he left for boot camp and during the halftime show, my dad made a little tribute in honor of him and we got him a cake and everything. I went upstairs a little while later and was talking to one of my mom’s friends. She asked if I wanted to marry him, and I said yes. “Are you sure?” “Of course.” I started to cry a little bit and she awkwardly hugged me, so I decided that I was done with the party and came upstairs. Brandon followed me up. We were lying on the bed, and I asked him if he had intentions of marrying me. He gave me one of those “Did you seriously just ask me that?” looks. “Yes…” And I just looked at him all teary eyed and whatnot with him over top of me. Then he said, “Oh, what the hell? … Alee Meredith, will you marry me?” He’s toyed around with that question before, but this was the first time he had ever asked that question seriously, and it was the first time I had ever answered truthfully with a yes. It was spontaneous, very, which is why I call it unofficial. He’s been taunting me with a proposal plan, and to hell like I’m letting him off the hook for that! He then got down on one knee in the middle of my messy room at the time and presented me with his Sleeping Lionheart necklace, which was the most important item he had with him. Then I gave him pointers on what he should do for the real thing. For example, he should use my full name.
Fast forward to his boot leave. We went to Gatlinburg for a couple of days, and we were in a gift shop with some rings behind the counter. So he made me pick one out and he bought it for me. :) So I got the fake ring on May 16, 2013. He said it was a promise ring.
